We visited Hoover Dam on the way to Flagstaff, which was fantastic for the Engineer in me - it is a marvel in manmade structures. We did the full tour inside the inspection tunnels. The photo of the face was taken by putting our camera out of an air vent in the dam.






We hit the old Route 66 and visited a museum explaining the old pioneer route, the exodus during the depression then the regular family trips to the coast. We stopped off for coffee in another fantastic 50's diner.









Another roadside America stop off was giganticus headicus. That is all we know about this oddity.












There were many old style stores along Route 66.
